Despite the circumstances and the memorial service for Jia, but she tried not to think too much about that. It made her eyes sting. Daddy and Misha always looked even sadder when she cried, so she tried not to.
Today, she didn't feel much like crying. She was curious and a little excited. Misha whispered to her after breakfast that he had a very important errand to run and he needed her help. It was a secret! Emily loved secrets and he trusted her to keep it! Plus, it was something for just the two of them to do! That made it even better.
She ran up to her room and got dressed in a hurry. Then she made sure Greta had her collar on, grabbed the beagle's walking leash, and ran downstairs again. Ooh! This meant a ride with Darlene, too! The day really was looking better!
